Does anybody know how to treat this plant in the wintertime? Should I leave it dryish and in low light and expect it to go dormant? I've got a greenhouse, but it is stuffed to the max. Or should I put it in the house in a window?
Any help will be appreciated.

Question about dichorisandra thyrsiflora
Hi Kay and Merry Christmas! I have the plant you sent me, and it is doing beautifully! Mine is outside, and it has not lost any leaves and even looks like it is growing! It gets mostly shade and stays very moist. I've read that it cannot take any frost but that it is hardy to 8b and should be kept in a bright location indoors or in a greenhouse in the wintertime. I imagine that, if the plant is outdoors and if the top is killed by frost, it would return in the spring in Zone 8b and 9. I hope someone answers you that knows more than I do. I agree with Clare. Here in zone 5 it does well in a cool basement under direct light. Mine did have a problem with aphids for a while, but once they were gone, it continued to bloom and thrive.
Hey Clare! I was thinking of you yesterday (even before I got your beautiful Christmas card. Thank you!) Some of those evergreen wisteria seeds popped finally. I don't know how long they will take from seed to bloom, but they are yours. I probably won't send them until after Christmas. 'Gonna write you an e-mail after some of this busy stuff gets finished.
Thanks Brugie and Clare, both. I had two of the blue gingers in a slightly heated closet on the back porch, but they were getting no light. I might just put them in the house near a window. The GH is bustin' at the seams.

I have a very large plant of this that I got from Brugie. It grew like a weed and I didn't know exactly what to do for it as far as overwintering it so I dug it up put it in a pot and have it in the gh.
Awesome, Kay! I have some things for you too! We'll get in touch after the busy holiday season has passed. I wish the best to you and yours.
