That's one of the best pages for perch wood available on the web. We get feedback from as far away as Australia.
Our birds all have the biggest cages we can afford and playstructures outside the cage.
Birds really stay more active when they have bigger cages, some toys and natural spectrum lights by the cage.
Too often, people skimp on bird equipment. I've seen birds sort of adapt before when crammed in small cages, but it's not the best for them. They are outdoor animals - the least we can do is give them a bit of room, light and toys. When we got bigger cages, and especially when we added lights, they doubled their activity.
I don't feel bad about having them anymore, because they existed before we got them and they have it better at our house than most places they would have ended up at. They are pretty cool.
It's interesting. You would think they would want more space. But after they have been out on the structures stretching their legs, they like to go back to their little home and relax - especially the cockatiels.
