Fare thee well, BooBear :-(

Crossville, TN(Zone 7a)

Just a couple days before we made it back to Florida my little BooBear passed away quietly. I had him for many years, he was old when we rescued him from the streets. One could not ask for a better friend. Many tears were shed in his orange fluff, and he made us all laugh so much. His last months were spent running 10 acres with his buddy Shadow (grams/gramps dog). He never bit anyone and was the most loving creature I have ever had. God sure picked a good one. :-) I guess God knew with all that was going on in my life I couldnt handle burying my baby- so he made sure I wasnt here when he took him home. :-(

Written for my BooBear.

Oh nigthtingale, sweetest soul trill, why do you lay so still?
So sweet the sound of your melody, now silent, why have you abandoned my sill?
Where a heartbeat once did grace, now still as stone, out of place.
Oh nightingale, my soul whisperer, where have you gone?
I find you there, beneath our tree, your body so cold, lifeless where once spirit lived.
Oh, but spirit has fled this place, as your eyes close for last.
Oh nightingale, my nightingale, died, you have died.
So here is where I'll lay thee, underneath our tree.
I'll plant a wildflower garden and weep for this sorrowful deed.
No longer do you sing, no more joy shall you bring, for you have chosen to flee.
Oh nightingale, remember me, when at last Heavens gates you enter.
My nightingale. Fare thee well.
