Pink Beauty came thru like a trooper

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

We had terrible winds but I guess this Pink Beauty was protected by the banana tree.

I am having such land envy here Susie!! A beauty!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I told ya to move to Texas Kell. There are two nice houses in our S/D for sale, each comes with 1.6 acres of land.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Just beautiful, Cala!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kell would work 24/7 trying to get it filled up with plants because it wouldn't feel right having all the extra space. LOL!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

So pretty Susie. I can't get over how everything has grown since I was there. I know you are loving all the many blooms that you are getting on so many of your tropicals and brugs.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Pink Beauty is beautiful. I love the green look of your garden. It reminds me of summer.

Knoxville, TN

She really is a beauty, Suz!
It is hard to believe you have only been working that land for a year! Most people are lucky to have a green thumb, but, your whole arm is green! Find me a job AND a house and I will follow you to Texas!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I've seen Susie
She is just green.....
and everything she touches is green......

I know someone switched us at birth and they took her down south to grow up and live

Well I demand my birthright!
You're gunna have to come up here and live while I force myself to come down there
Kinda like wife swap
ROTFLMAO

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

WOW, woweeee, if you think kell is envious you should look at my tiny 1/2 acre that I plan to fill up with these plants next spring, sure won't need the man to cut my grass, and I did buy a banana tree on ebay last night it withstands the cold and is good for my area, where will I put it. >)

Brugie, I agree, Kell would be out there planting and planting and no one(except the nursery where she would shop) would see her for weeks. Her hubby would starve to death cause she wouldn't be there to fix his dinner. Her kitty cats and bird would feel abandoned......it would be terrible. Guess we'd better leave her in California for the safety of her family, lol.
Mel, they have openings in the school system, pays good and the retirement plan is really good. If you work in the high school you don't have to be bilingual, so that would work! My boss is also a real estate broker, so he could find you a house!
CC, I'm sorry they switched us, but I'm not giving up the warmth, so you will just have to move in down here. And I don't know why you guys think I have a green thumb, if you saw how many plants I've killed you'd think my fingers held the kiss of death for plants! Poor things see me coming and they say "oh no, it's the TX plant killer, run for your life".

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

Beautiful Susie!....

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Its beautiful!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I can't imagine living someplace where I could leave a brug in the ground to get bigger and bigger every year. It won't be long and you will be pruning brug trees from a tall ladder, Susie. Great picture.

I agree with Brugie, I would love to live in a area where I didn't have to worry about my plants freezing, or myself either. But I am afraid if we weren't worrying about the freezing weather we would be worrying about other kinds of weather. Below is a picture of my brugs sunning in my south window.

Yep, it looks like 10A is the Zone to be! Beautiful Brugs, Calalily.

All the pictures I have ever seen that Calalily has posted of her plants have been very beautiful.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Susie, I am considering it. I just can't stand the hot heat there, I melt into globules of fat. We could sell our little house here and buy a palace in Texas! Sadly, I am almost too old to fill up a big yard now. Even 10 years ago, I would be running there! I may have to live vicariously thru you! A that way you get to do all the work!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Susie, PB is one of my favs, and she LOVES it here, I hope she makes it through the winter, she has been tested and so far, so good...

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

There are a few drawbacks to being here and the wind is the major problem. We also have salt to deal with since we're close to the Gulf. Then there is the gator......
Kell, we aren't as miserably hot as Laredo nor quite as humid as Houston and at least there's the wind to cool you off but summers are a lot hotter than northern California summers that's for sure. Of course if you lived here, garden help is pretty cheap so you could sit inside and sip lemonade while they dig and plant for you.
Brugie, I want a bit brugmansia tree like those in California that Kyle posted a picture of!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I think you will get them Susie. They will be awesome to look at.
