cabbage soup recipe with a twist

when i told you about the vegetable soup diet i was making, a few of you gave recipes for the cabbage soup diet. after reading them i decided to try it, (gettijng a bit tired of my soup) but i braised the soup as follows.
after i cut the cabbage into bite size pieces i sauted them in two batches using a tbl oil for each batch. i removed each batch when they were soft. nexct i put in whatever veggies i had around. carrots, peppers, onions etc. i cooked these for a few minutes and then put the cabbage back in the pot. to this i added 6 cups of chicken stock. i brought this to a boil and then put the top on and placed it in my preheated oven at 315 degrees for an hour and a half. if you decide to try this after about 15 minutes in the oven take the top off the pot. it should be just a light simmer not a hard boil.
the tasted of this soup was fantastic. the cabbage was as sweet as sugar. am gonna try this method with my veggie soup
