Well I'm all packed

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

and I mean packed, double/triple stacked. A flea could jump through the Hoop House and sadly I still have about 50 pots sitting out around the yard. Was a hard choice to leave some of them out but hope to get them all together in one spot and cover with a tarp and pray they survive.. Hoop House is 12 x 16'

Looks like mine, Donna. How are you going to water those in the back? LOL

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I have a back door Ada so it gets watered from both ends lol. Usually only have to water once a week. Just praying I don't get a bad bug infestation because I wouldn't be able to treat it very well especially everything that is on the ground under the shelves. Got mites last year but one spraying of Avid took care of everything in there. Winter time in the GH is the only time I ever use pesticides on any of my plants.

Mc Call Creek, MS

Donna, I know the feeling.....supposed to get 24 tomorrow night. I buried a whole bunch of stuff I couldn't get in the GH under a big wad of pine straw. I'm afraid it won't save it, but at some point you just have to admit that you can't save the whole world.

Your GH is exactly twice the size of mine!

I'm glad you finally got yours all in. Get out the Bengay!

Love ya!
Kay

I know what you mean, Donna. I have my fingers crossed that we'll be insect free this winter. LOL

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Donna , Looking good !

I would suggest a good hose nozzle so you can reach all of them.

Good Luck

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I use a water wand with telescoping neck and i can adjust the pressure of the water too.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Donna -- you must be pooped! Unbelievable! You did good :)

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Amazing, Donna. Be sure to wear protective eye goggles when you use Avid. I was using some this past fall on a windy day, and it blew right into my face. I had an extremely dilated right pupil, cloudy vision, and dizziness for about a 48-hour period. Now I use clear goggles when I use Avid or any insecticide. I sometimes have to learn these things the hard way apparently.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Donna,
Sure looks a lot differant than it did Saturday. Sure wish we would have thought to get brandon to move some of that stuff for you.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

well I thought my daughter and friends were coming and we weren't expecting the temps to get the 35 that night either. I just told myself if I had to go back to the ER again for another shot in my back so be it. I was not going to let all my plants freeze. DH ended up working until midnight but he did take me out for breakfast about 1 a.m. since I only had chips and a coke for dinner. Now way could I stand there and cook after 6 1/2 of haul all those big pots. I almost passed on going out to breakfast. I didn't want to move. lol

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Gosh, that is packed. I hope you have a two wheel dolly to help you move those big pots. Are you able to move okay tonight?

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I have a garden wagon; the best gift my DH has ever given me. He got it for me spring a year ago when I started having bad back and shoulder problems. I just pull it up to the plant and just have to lift it enough to get it in. I am doing o.k.

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

Wow Donna, you really are packed in there! I feel SO lucky, was sure that I wouldn't be able to fit everything inside, and actually have room left! Yippee, room for more stuff!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You must be feeling better Donna! And like me, one day you are dying from back pain and the next I am out there doing bad things again to it!

So is that a heater up on the ceiling? I am heater obsessed!

Where is Tatiana???

So glad you are back!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Yes i hang a electric fan forced heater from the ceiling but when it gets really cold like then next few days I usually add the propane cooker but there is no room so I just ran out to Wal Mart and bought a second electric heater because I couldn't bear to take any plants out to make room for it on the floor. I am also double insulated with plastic this year to since when we made hurricane repairs we just covered the less than 1 yr old plastic with the new so I also added one grow light since the film is now 12 mil thick white lol. I will kill them from lack of sun. didn't think to order clear plastic

New Hyde Park, NY(Zone 7a)

Boy, I hope you didn't accidently leave something in the back. Something I would probably do lol

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Donna,
Just wanted to remind you to dig up that varigated 4 o'clock, if you havent already.!!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Looking good, glad you got them inside. Were you able to get out of bed this morning? Hope you are not feeling too bad.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Oopssssssssssssss

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

How are the plants today Donna?

Waco, TX(Zone 8b)

Hi Donna, if I didn't know better I would have thought that was a picture of my garage.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

they should bo o.k. we only got down to 35 but possibly 19 tonight and tomorrow night. They news said would get down to between 19 to 26 real good forcasting!! Hope I am close enough to the water to only get to 26. Got to get out there now and get the second electric heater hooked up in the back of the GH. Sure hope its enough

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I want to know who sent the cold weather down here! We're supposed to be in the low 40's in Bayview and down to 39 in some areas! I hope you don't get as cold as predicted Donna. Do you have heat in that GH?

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I have one electric fan forced heater up already and usually add the propane cooker when we get this cold but have to many plants and don't want to remove any to make room to put it in there so went and got a second electric heater last night since I can hang it from the ceiling rib. Should be enough to keep everything above freeze in there although I usually try to keep it at about 50. I got one of those thermometers that has the remote so I can keep a watch on the temp in there. If it looks like it is getting to cold I can snatch out a few plants and throw in the propane cooker. Probably won't get much sleep tonight lol but then I am usually up most of the night anyway

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Donna, use heat lamps. That way you won't have to move plants. I know in TN when we just needed to bump up the temps a few degrees we would use lightbulbs.

Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

Gosh Donna. Those babies are cramped. I have been working on third house. This one is out of PVC. The other two as you know are wood. I didn't know we were dipping to 25 until yesterday. And yesterday we started building. Have a few more hours to go then have to load up all the remaining plants in the third house. Don't know how I do this but every year I have more potted plants. Gosh! I'm exhaused....more advil PLEASE. Then a hot bath and a shot of tequila for me. At 11:00PM it should be 32. Pray all my babies make it. Pix...tomorrow.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Whew just came in. would you believe I was able to add 20 more 5 gal pots in there. had to remove everything in the middle to put up second electric heater as well as run another electric cord since the one I had kept tripping when I plugged in the other heater and I saw where I had filled it in the dark I could make some more room and stack more pots . Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I was able to get my most important salvias in and a few other things. So everything else is still in the yard. Didn't have time to get them together. Hopefully one night of this won't kill them until I can get them all together tomorrow. Dinner time. I am making chili. I am cold to the bone. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr ((((((((Good luck Daisy))))))) and everyone with this hard cold snap

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Looks and sounds like you are ready for the freezing weather. I hope the ones outside do ok. My greenhouse is filled also. I even went out and took some additional cuttings of seedlings that had not bloomed and other cuttings. I even pulled up some seedlings and planted them in pots and crammed them in there. All this for just a few nights of temps in the low 30's and then it will be back up warm again.
