Last year we started a new tradition, with the kids in the neighborhood. They will come over to decorate gingerbread houses, they look forward to this 'big event'.
The week prior, DH and I cut and put together the houses. First the carboard is cut and glued together, then I add the final touch of graham crackers to the houses.
Candy, cereal, cookies are laid out on the table for the kids to use their imagination. No rules, just have fun! I make the glue out of a meringue powder, powdered sugar and water.
Here are the houses set up and ready to go.
