May I use this picture in order to make a quilt pattern I make wall quilts and some has asked for a daisy and this is the best picture I can find of an actual daisy.

Sure! Feel free but please send me a photo of the finished quilt.

Victor - Do you save the seeds from your Shasta Daisy? I cut off the spent heads, but I'm not sure what to do next. Can you help?

I don't save the seeds. I dead head when I remember, but usually don't. Are you having a problem?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

No. I was just wanting to propagate some more plants for another bed. Can you not do that with Shastas? I'll save you some seeds if you want some and I can figure out if I can get seeds from them. I don't know if mine ("Becky") is a hybrid or not. If it is a hybrid, it wouldn't work - even if I can find the seeds. :) I don't know much about Shastas, but I like them.

Did you go on a hike today?

We went for more of a walk - was spectacular along the Hudson - thanks. As you said - seeds from hybrids is a dicey thing. I usually propagate perennials by division.

I just checked Becky under the plant files, and this one can only be propagated by division, as you suggested. Bummer..... My plant is new and not ready for propagation, but that will give me one to wait for!

I would imagine that your walk was lovely today...The Hudson is a beautiful river. We have a very small piece of property (one acre) on the Hudson upstate. The River has scenic river regulations there, so we can only camp on the property. It is so nice not to be able to see anything but nature there. The scenic railroad train goes through our property. It's pretty wild up there.

Wow - that sounds beautiful. Have any photos??

No digital photos....the river bank drops down to great big boulders you can sit on in the water.. The River is pretty rocky and not terribly deep there. My DH walked across it the last time we were there. He is much taller than I am and it was about chest high on him. I'm not sure I'd try that myself. The rest of the property is beautiful forest...except for the open section with the railroad tracks running through it.......a very serene place. There is a level place where you can pitch a tent just above the river bank. There are pretty cardinalis growing on the bank across the River from us.

Sounds wonderful.
