I have gotten some pass. seeds and not sure when I should start them in pots. Should I go ahead a start them now in my greenhouse?

You can start them anytime. Yes, they will germinate faster when the soil and atmosphere are warm. Remember that passifloras can take anywhere from a couple of months to a year to germinate.

Thanks for the info Clare. I think I'll get them started now.

Brenda, what kind do you have? Some germinate faster than others. Good luck with them! I have grown P. mollissima, P. edulis, P. amethystina, and P. morifolia from seed. They all germinated in about two months or slightly longer. The most important thing is to make sure the soil is warm. If you can set the seed tray on a heat source, you will be sure to have success.

I have received several in trade. P. Aurantia, P. Morifola Incarnata, P. Coral Seas. P.Vitifola, P. Forida Alba, and one that doesn't say what type it is. I plan on putting them on top of my freezer in my utility room. There are four windows in there so there will be plenty of light. I plan on useing 20oz coke bottles to germinate them in. Just hope they don't out grow their container. Should be okay.

Brenda, the light and the warmth and the humidity should be great. Your P. morifolia and P. incarnata should germinate the fastest (those are two separate ones). I don't think they will outgrow their container, but if you need to pot up to a four-inch or a six-inch container, they will still do fine.

I plan on starting mine soon, in my small greenhouse

I have heard that the fresher the seeds, the better they germinate. Also, most passiflora don't bloom the first year from seeds, so if you can get them going, your chance for bloom will be better. Keep them trimmed back to encourage bushing or more runners/vines. That helps when space is limited inside also.
