Here's my little Red-head buddy! It's been a week or more.
Woody's Back!
He's checking you out too, more/less hair? Nectar mixed just right. I think that's a smile he' wearing.
He's beautiful.
Woody is quite the handsome fellow. I think he noticed the new camera!!
I've got one of these little guys. Virtually identical. This last spring he was an immature male who hung out in the Olive tree on a particular perch. He still hangs out there sometimes but usually now goes down and spends time on the Yuccas. He's matured now though and he's a gorgeous little Anna's just like yours. He considers the feeder his private property and now tries to chase the pretenders away.
I probably should give him a name too.

Woody must be a wonderful addtion to your garden. I envy you....I miss my hummers. they used to always give me a smile.
Is he "just" an Anna's? Mine only seem to have noticeable color (or that intense color anyway) when they flare their feathers at you. Some on the fore-throat if the sun hits right on it while only feeding.
Of course, maybe he *is* flaring all over in the first picture -- his neck sure looks longer than any hummingbird's I've ever seen!
Too lazy to get birdbook right now...
~'spin!~
Spin, they do their best giraffe imitations trying to make sure you are not going to get TOO close to where they are noshing. I have one little girl that is mightily interested in the Christmas tree lights. I have been afraid to leave the screen open while trekking back and forth to the bbq. Don't want to have to chase a hummer around the house.
