I know the pics are blurry (new camera) but
I thought you might enjoy them anyway.
I think these are mostly Daffodils, but
there might be some paperwhites
or who knows, too.
Bulbs that say "Plant Me".
Looks like you'd better get busy!
wow. i am NOT alone then. cleaning the garage today and found some bulbs that are sprouting also. i'll plant them tomorrow rain or shine.
how are yours doing now?
I'm ashamed to admit they're still
sitting there!!
I've a new area to put them in, that
isn't ready, yet. Almost, tho'.
The snow in Nov. & then the rains
we've been having since have kept me
out of the gardens.
Day B4 yesterday I needed 1 more
day to finish removing the nails, etc.
from the dirt and fill in the holes, so I could
start planting. Then it rained yesterday.
Went out today & the holes were filled
with water!! And more rain on the way!!
They're growing rather nicely, just
sitting there. I hope I don't kill them
when I FINALLY get them into the
ground.
I still have bulbs to plant too... Today it's 60degrees and the snow is melting so maybe I'll have a chance! and DH is home to help--although he might find some errands to do when I announce my plan for the day!
Happy New Year! t.
It's suppose to rain off & on most
of next week!!
What are the chances they can
bloom on the patio without dirt
or water??!!
I bought some bulbs (also waiting to
be planted, of course) to repel the
gophers--Maybe the gophers will
drowned B4 I can plant the bulbs!!
One can but hope.--LOL.
They may bloom without dirt, but they will probably die soon after. Best to slam them into pots of soil, let them bloom, then plant them in your yard in the summer.
Lori
The 1st pic is of a small box.
Here is the another small box, & a large box that is
in the back there.
I thought these bulbs were all Daffodils. I was wrong.
There are 2 Paperwhites blooming in these pics, 1 in
each box. None in the big box, so those are probably
Daffodils.
These 3 boxes are filled with bulbs. There are more
Daffodils (probably) coming up every day.
Isn't it cute!! I've marked them, so I can move them
into 1 of the gardens.
I'll leave the rest in the gully & let them multiply to their
hearts content.
Except for the other 1 I didn't even know I had. I just found
it today. It's like this 1 except it's a double!! I love double
flowers.
It was too overcast to take a pic of it today. It's
supposed to rain, but maybe it'll hold off long enough
for me to get my pic before it's done blooming.
It's great that you were able to plant your daffs so they could bloom for the spring! It is still too early for daffodils here, but the greenery is doing well. We should have flowers in a month or so, if the weather holds, and we don't get too many frosty nights.
Lori
This is a mixture of all of the daffs I had blooming in my garden last spring.
Ohhh...ke6kad--your pictures make me long for Spring!
ladyrowan, your collection of 'different daffs' inspires me!
I wish everybody would plant daffodils! I just LOVE them--especially when they were rescued from the 'forgotten in the garage pile' or the bottom of the bin at Depot or however they were orphaned...
Hyacinths, too. Are yours coming up?
What a nice way to start the day with your pictures! t.
Beautiful GREEN gardens and flowers too!! All I can see out my window is dead trees-and bare ground-with a little snow---
Thank God for my houseplants!!
Thanks for sharing your pictures with us!!!!!
Jeanette
ke6kad, you have everbody suffering with "Spring Fever". Your garden and and Flower boxes are gorgeous. Good Luck!
Hi, Tobasco.
My first hyacinth began blooming a couple of days ago, along with a couple of early crocus, and some dwarf Katherine Hodgkin Iris that finally opened this morning. There was a light rain when I was on my way out the door this morning, so the flowers were slightly furled, but the colors are amazing. I look forward to getting a couple shots of these little guys in the sunlight.
Lori
Oh, yes! keep the pics coming! That K H is an elegant little iris. Thanks for posting!
Lori, your Daffodils & Iris are gorgeous!!
I found a Crocus blooming I'd missed when I was trying
to dig up all my bulbs last year. It's a yellow 1. For some
reason, the yellows always bloom first.
I'm also finding quite a few Hyacinths coming up in
various places. Again, they are ones I missed last
year. Things I missed are popping up all over. What
fun!!
I have old bulbs & new bulbs of Crocuses, Daffodils
& Hyacinths this year, but they were planted even later
than all those bulbs, up & kinda blooming, now. Which
means I'll have to wait awhile to see them.
Oh, yeah, there are old Paperwhites planted with the
bulbs planted later, too. I knew most of them were
coming up, but today, my DH noticed most of the
Paperwhites are up & almost ready to bloom. That
was really quick!!
Gardening is sooo exciting!!
We planted some more bulbs today!! Lolipop Lilies &
a Peruvian Lily called Festalis. According to the label
on the bag they were in, they're a specialty Ismente.
Anyone know what an Ismente is?
Now don't be shy about posting pics of your spring showings .
When the rain goes away, I'll be out there shooting away!!
Thank you, KE6.
I have to comment on your user name, because it cracks me up everytime I see it. My dad is K6JXM. A local friend of his is KE6SXM. He is very big in the local radio group up here, doing a lot of emergency services communication prep just in case.
I do hope to see more photos of your daffs, and hyacinths as they bloom. It sounds like your garden is doing a fine job of waking up.
Lori
Yes, it is!!
If the rain ever stops, I'll be out there looking
in every nook & crany for new things coming
up and/or blooming!!
You're only the 3rd person who's commented on my user name.
My DH is WA6UVW & he's very active in the same things. Did
you know the Salvation Army has a HAM Radio Dept? It's a
recent addition to my DH's involvement in things HAM-ish. If
they're interested, I know my DH would enjoy hearing from them.
I'll give you his E-mail addy if they are. He's retired, so that's
what he does most of the time.
