My H. onychoides has huge buds and every morning I think..."TODAY"...Not. Every day the buds keep getting bigger and bigger. I am really anxious to have blooms as these will be my first and I am told they smell wonderfully! Will post picture when it finally happens! I also have 3 NOIDS about to bloom so 3 mysteries will be solved... And all of this happening in some of the worst weather we have had in a long time...temps in the low 70's, windy, rainy... No telling what turns these critters on!
I brought all of my rooted cuttings from Australia to the back of the house, under the eaves, so they can enjoy the outdoors. They all seem to grow so much better outdoors even tho the GH has lots of air circulating.... like most people, eh?
Who else has bloomers now?
Aloha
Can't stand the anticipation!
I have an indoor hibiscus that's about to open a few blooms, and my Xmas cactus is just a happy flowering fool right now, but I suppose you're wondering about hoyas, eh? lol.
No luck there; in my climate my hoyas like to have a rest period from late Nov-early Feb, letting them almost dry out between waterings - when I give them that, they start going nuts blooming by mid-February.
Can't wait to see your pics!!
Christine.
Indoor hibiscus sure counts with me!!!!
My H. kerrii & DS-70 are still 'gearing up' by forming umbels...but no bloom yet. All I've got are Thanksgiving Cacti & African Violets in bloom. :~(
Both of my pots of H. multiflora are loaded with buds. About to post a picture of my sickly hoya. By tomorrow afternoon it's probably going to cuttings instead of a plant....
