Cant top this list. Kind of like to have a wish about staying young longer, but pretty selfish and also way late.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Being grandma is nice!! I am going to be GREAT Grandma in June / July, dont have a real date yet. My name is Dixie but I find it easier to just use my DG name,That way I dont confuse myself.LOLDaughter and Dad look very pleased.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Nice daughter and DH, but.......she's fast losing her pretty figure, didn't we all?
Then, it never really did come back!!

Julie: Peace on earth is the first and formost. The rest is about like your choices.
Think if we had peace, there would be much more time and money for hunger, cures, etc.

My five wishes might include:

1. Good health and much happiness to my family and everyone in Dave's Garden.

2. A very, very early Spring!

3. A very short and mild winter!

4. All of Julie's wishes to come true.

5. And Gretchen's additional wish to come true.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Congrats Gretchen & Dixie (Oriole) for your grand-babies to come. Mine is also due in Feb. or maybe sooner, she's about to bust! Your daughter is beautiful Gretchen, just like her mother, and her daddy gave some of his genes too I see! Thank you for the lovely compliment about My Molly...she will get a hug from me to you Gretch. Ooops from me from YOU! lol

Yes, A cure for Cancer is a great wish! My dear father passed with this horrible, painful disease in 1985.

As I read these, it makes me stop and reflect *with a tear whelping in my eyes*....slow down and think of what other's needs are, and how I truly wish all of your wishes and dreams come true.

I think at Christmas we get so busy, and sometimes it's good to humble ourselves and just to think of other's and how we are blessed in this life. I just wish everyone could be healthy, happy, and just loved.

Love
Julie

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

God bless you Julie! What a lovely thread!!!

I can't take any of the credit for Bec's genetics, as she's only mine by marriage.......but I honestly don't think I could love or respect her anymore if she were of my own flesh!!! She's an awesome lady.

Molly -- I love that name, Julie! Thanks for giving her a hug from me!!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I don't have a lot of wishes for me, but I do agree with all of the above. I wish wonderful things for my children and grandchildren as well as all my other family and friends, and all peoples of the world, rich or poor. Another wish would be that I could meet, personally, every one of my friends from Daves Garden. What a super bunch of people live here. That would be an experience I would never forget. Have a wonderful Holiday Season.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Dear Aloha, I truly can't wait to feel those feelings you describe of being a grandmother. I'm already getting so excited about it. I find myself going by the baby department every single time I am near one lol...We're having a Girl!!!

I love your wishes Aloha, how beautifully and eloquently stated. I got chills reading...thank you for sharing your wishes...and then you made me laugh!!!!! LOL who wouldn't want a body, face and mind of those ages LOLOLOL!!!!!! That is a fantasy of mine....heheh

Gretchen, I would not have known that she wasn't your own flesh and blood if you hadn't have told me...she is very very pretty and doesn't look like she's gained an ounce....all baby!!!! She's carrying it high too, is it a girl???

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Bless you, Julie! And, no she hasn't gained any weight beyond baby. Only 15 lbs!!! Becky is an athlete -- went to college on a full athletic scholarship, and still runs in marathons, triathalons, etc. They don't know what it is, and want to be surprised. We're all hoping for a little girl...

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Brugie, as do I. I wish that I could meet each and every one of you. You know,....you can almost feel as though you know someone just by their words and what come's from their heart. I feel like I know all of you.

Bless you Brugie, you are truly another perfect example of a kind, giving and loving lady here at Dave's :)

Thanks for sharing your wishes with us.

Merry Christmas!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Too many things to list - let me think on this one for a few minutes and get back to you!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

I wish for all the same things as Julie, but I'm also praying for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis for my granddaughter, Faith.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Dear Minigrannie, God love you. This is another horrible disease and I pray for there to be a cure for this disease along by your side. I know that your granddaughter feels your love and can see it in your eye's when you look at her. Your little granddaughter Faith will be in my prayers. Give her a hug from me and tell her she is being thought of right now and prayed for. And Grannie....here's one big one for you (((((Grannie))))) for being a loving, caring, concerned grandmoma.

There are miracles in this life, we see them everyday. There is hope for all of these things we wish for. We just have to keep wishing...and most of all...keep believing ALL things possible.
Bless you and all of yours! Merry Christmas Grannie :)

What a warming thread..

I'm going to be a grandma too, : )......due date is June 27th!! I'm a bit young for this (36) but i think i'm the most excited.

My wish? A cure for cancer, especially breast. I lost my grandma and aunt to it. My mom and i are both survivors!!!!

Of course, I ditto all the above wishes.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Ditto to all of the above wishes.

Gretchen, your daughter is beautiful.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

Thank you Ada! She's a real honey!!!

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Denise, how beautiful are your wishes, I can echo each one of them. I share in your wish for our soldier's and God's guidance in everything we say and do...Happy Holidays to you too!

MSJen, congrats on your grandbaby coming in June, wow, looks like another baby boom coming this next year! Isn't it exciting? You may be young, but that's all the more time to have with the baby and your loved one's. I am so sorry you lost your grandma and aunt to breast cancer. I know it must have been scary for you and your mother to have been told to have it too, but God does listen, and heal...both our bodies and our hearts. My cousin just had a masectomy but is now cured too, I am so glad you and your mother are Survivor's of this nasty evil disease.

Ya know.... I was always told that only God knows our course in this life, and while we are here in this world, we can make a difference. If it's just something we say to someone or just being an example to others. Thank you for sharing your Christmas Wishes.

Ada, you're a sweetheart. I totally agree with you about Gretchen's daughter. Isn't it funny how sometimes even if your children aren't blood but come into your life by marriage that they often look like you?....My Cousin has an adopted little girl, and to me, she looks just like her moma and daddy that adopted her. It was just God's gift.... Merry Christmas to ALL of you!

We are all so blessed aren't we??!!!

I feel so close to all of you, and love to see your posts, they make me feel so warm and fuzzy inside and often I shed a tear reading them, but they are all so precious, each and every one of them.

Love
Julie

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

I wanted to share this poem with you all. It's by a Jr. High student and it says it all, from a child's point of view.

Christmas Wishes

I wish this Christmas would be filled with joy
And presents would be given to every girl and boy.
I wish that Christmas would be filled with love
So that blessings would be sent from up above.
I wish that everyone in the world could have food to eat
I also wish they could have shoes on their feet.
I wish the hate today would end
I wonder why everyone just can't be friends.
I don't wish for presents or much for me
I just wish that everyone would be free.
I wish the homeless would find somewhere to live
I wish the selfish would learn to give.
I just wish the world would become a better place
And it wouldn't be based on my race.

Merry Christmas!!

Oh, that's so nice -- thank you Julie! You are such a sweetie!!! I keep forgetting to add, that I also wish (like Brugie) that all of us here could meet in person one of these days. A Brug Round-up! Wouldn't that be grand?

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Gretchen you don't have to thank me, it's the truth! You're the sweetie! All of you are, thank you for making my day ALL day long everyday!

Hey BrugAddict I just noticed where you are from, my grandmother is in Augusta and my aunt is in martinez and my uncle is serving in Fort Gordon which I believe is right down the block from Harlem.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Your welcome Ada, Carol & mns, it's nice to see how the younger mind's think....they are so precious to me.

Yes Mns2lv4ever, I was born in Augusta, my moma & sister live's there and a brother's in Appling, and Ft.Gordon is right down the road alittle ways. You'll have to let me know when you come to visit and maybe we can meet!

Boy, it's such a small world isn't it? I've been to New Jersey a couple of year's ago when I was taking the test for the airline Express Jet. (Which I PASSED!!! But realized later it would be too much time from my family. Family is very important to me so I also PASSED that up lol.... I wished I would have gone with the group when they went over to New York when I had a chance. :-( Maybe one day I can do again sometime :) And yet another wish! lol

Here's Frosty the Snowman! LQQK he's wavin' at ya'll!

Well Julie and mns2- it IS a small world! My husband was stationed at Ft. Gordon and we lived in Augusta (Evans really- just down the road from Martinez). That was from August 1999 to August 2001. Nothing against Georgia, but I got my rear end back to Texas as fast as I could! :) We did make lots of nice friends there whom I still stay in touch with.

Jamie

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

1. Peace and tolerance in the world, indeed
2. Cures for all the different cancers
3. 100 less lbs.
4. My sister to get well
5. The "haves" to stop fighting to keep riches they can't possibly need and to stop snobbery towards the "have nots."
One more, I'm cheating. I would love to win the lottery.

New Hyde Park, NY(Zone 7a)

texasgarden, I have another aunt in evans. My aunt that lives in Martinez was born and raised in Georgia had moved to Texas for about 7 years Quilan Texas, she has since moved back to Georgia. And wishes she was still in Texas, says the people in Texas were the only real friends she ever had. Me I have lived nowhere else but NY, ( the city, upstate and Long Island) I love the south for the weather but don't know if I could adjust after living here my whole life.

Woodspirit1, I like # 3, Brugaddict can I have six wishes please lol

Denise

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

I agree with all the wishes above, I would only add that I wish I could see my remailing family in England one of these days. Two left of fourteen.
Doris

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

Denise,

I think that is a big part of it- where you're from and what you're used to. I am a Texan through and through. You just can't beat it out of us! :) Even though we are all from the same country, there are major cultural differences from area to area in the US. One of my best friends is from up north and has only lived in Texas for about 3 years. I swear it's like we speak a different language! Someone will say something and Erin just sort of looks at me with "that look" and I translate. She often says "Jamie, quick! I need a Texan to Yankee translation!" I talked to her mom on the phone once and she kept having Erin put me back on the phone to say certain words b/c she got such a kick out of my accent. LOL! My sister-in-law's partner is from Boston and is very cold natured so she decided she would become a transplant southerner. Now I get a kick out of her because we have her saying things like "sweet as pie" but with that Boston accent. HA! I myself had never been north of the Mason Dixon line until 2003 when I went to visit my husband in Seattle- he was deployed and sent to Washington State for some reason (he's in the Texas National Guard). Anyway, I would love to go to NYC and a few other places, but Texas will always be home. :)

Jamie

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

kareoke, what does remailing mean?

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

woodspirit. TYPO *LOL* should have said remaining, I am one of fifteen children, and there are two sisters left in England.
