Today, December 10, is International Human Rights Day.

I am a very proud member of Amnesty International, an organization of caring people who work to stop violence against Women: Women and War. There have been many released prisoners of conscience thanks to Amnesty members who write letters to persuade governments and officials in other countries, and even our own, to respect and honour the rights of every human being. Today is the day when thousands of Amnesty International members around the world celebrate the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
