Alot of my hoya's are starting to get this coloration on the leaves. It starts out as little red spots and then becomes big blotches. I have had a couple spots on some of the leaves turn black. I am wondering if it is from too much sun. I took my shade cloth down about a month ago and we have had alot of cold clear day's. I am also wondering about air flow. I have two small fans facing each other from opposite ends of the greenhouse. Any idea's would be much appreciated.

What is it ?
Patricia - I, too, get those little red dots on some of the leaves...especially those exposed to a lot of light and especially when they are bitten by insects. I would move them to less light...or put the shade cloth back on... This is not scientific advice...just mine {~) LOL
Patricia I hope it's nothing serious. I'm leaving my shade cloth on for the winter. Even though it doesn't feel hot, my greenhouse gets really warm & toasty during the day.
Blessings,
Awanda
I am going to put my shade cloth up this afternoon. Then when it is overcast for several day's in a row I will worry that they aren't getting enough sun. Oh well. I am off to the greenhouse.
The red is from poor air circulation ,and also heat build up..... you need to also cut down on light. I hope this might help.
Good call, David.
Susan, that plant on the right IS a Dischidia...I have it but can't remember the name.

Patricia, remember you sent me to Hoyas with my Brugs? Mine don't have the red. I'll bet it is from overcrowding. I have one under florescent lights real low to it and the other in my bathroom where the lights are on almost 24 hours a day. Jeanette
What is the plant immediately to the upper left of the hoya? It has long flat leaves. I have one and would like to tag it, but don't know it's names.
Thanks!
Sorry, I haven't been on my computer much here lately. I did put my shade cloth back up . Sequee, that is H. erythrina with the long flat leaves.
