deepest pink possible

Norfolk, VA(Zone 8a)

What is the deepest pink anyone has ever seen?
Monika's "Pretty in Pink" is the darkest I have seen.
Anybody seen darker or deeper?
I am plotting to add to my collection.

thank you for your time,
Brug hugs, Karen

I've not seen it in person, but Kell's "Red" is about as deep as it can get. Here in my yard it is a toss up between MM, Susanne, and even FM can be dark pink. I had two seedlings that were pretty dark also. One unnamed and one named Monika.

Norfolk, VA(Zone 8a)

is "Red" dark all over, or with a yellow throat?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'll bring the thread back up. You can see it then. Awesome brug.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Karen, the name of the thread is "I thought I died and went to heaven". It is on the first page now.

Norfolk, VA(Zone 8a)

oh yes, I remember that one,,,,,
let me go look....

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Check some of Kell's threads. She has had a lot of nice pinks.

This is reminding me...when I first got into brugs this past spring, I was told that there were all kinds of pinks coming out this summer... I thought there would be some for sale also, but I didn't see them!
When will some of them be out to have in our gardens? That is what I would like to know.

I think new ones out this summer would be Mtn. Magic, Harlot, Vixen, and I'm sure there were others. The thing with newly released brugs is that some people prefer to sell them at first to recover some of the costs of growing the brugs for sale. I've released ForeverMorr now, so if you can find someone who has it and they are willing to share, it would be new also. Susanne isn't released, so there will still be some waiting time on that one. Anything else that I have, other than new seedlings, I'd be happy to share with some people next fall. It is a lot of work though and I just can't do tons of requests like I have in the past. I still have two boxes to mail out yet from this year's requests, not counting the contest brugs. I guess, tomorrow, I better get started....

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Shirley...the only one of the ones you mentioned that are out that I saw for sale was Magic Mtn and that was on e-bay. For some reason I thought Tracey would have some of the new ones for sale, but everytime I go to her site it is not open for selling. Will she be back? I guess what I am trying to say, who is selling these new releases? I can understand that members are trying to re-coup some of their expenses and I didn't think that they should give them away. But, where are they available for sale?
If you know anyone who has Forever Morr...would you please e-mail me and I will look into it! Thank-you, Margie

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Okay...Alice Harris has it, Tracey, Renee, Root and Kell. I'm not saying their plants are all big enough to cut on though. It's almost ten PM here and I'm not thinking real well. LOL!

Had to come back and correct my spelling. Nite everyone.

Thanks Shirley! Have a good nights sleep!

Norfolk, VA(Zone 8a)

just to emphasize-
I wasn't looking for anything free.
I am only too happy to BUY a dark pink if anyone knows of a source, or has them.
Shirley, you are so sweet to go to so much trouble.

so many great people in this group

Karen....let's let each other know if we find one to buy, OK?!
Margie

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks you guys. Brug growers are some of the best!!

Norfolk, VA(Zone 8a)

they sure are, Shirley.

Margie and I are continuing in email to share our "hunts" and info. Do you want to be kept informed, or do you have plenty?

(as if there IS such a thing, hee hee)

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

Anyone know if we could get a brug shipped from Canada to US?
I thought I checked once before and was told "no".

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Karen, but with all the new seedlings I'll be growing next year and those I kept from this year, I'm expecting to see my veggie garden get much smaller. I think I better not go for more right now. Thanks so much for thinking of me though.

Norfolk, VA(Zone 8a)

I just sent in the question on the website, and I will let you know when they email me back. Unless someone else knows???

Norfolk, VA(Zone 8a)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Country Gardens is JT's store, I believe.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Thanks Brugie, I don't know why I thought it was tiG's store. I knew someone would help me out. He probably has that one too though. Worth checking out Karen :) Glad to help
Julie

You are right...his site is down.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

wonder who else has a website we could send her to to check if they have that one

Houston, TX(Zone 9b)

Here is tiG's site:

http://www.brugmansias.us/index.html

Haven't checked if she has it or not, though. I doubt anyone would have MM in too much of a quantity, being as it is a fairly new release. They grow fast, but not that fast!! lol! Next year will see it in more yards...

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Karen, I don't really know how pink you want your pink to be, but for a easy to find, great tendrils, prolific bloomer and knock out scent, I'd pick Butterfly, she's a classic! She's actually mush darker for me, the flash is always on :(

Butterfly sure is one of my favorites. Awesome fragrance too.

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Oh goodness, isn't that beautiful!!! I love the long tendrils on Butterfly!

Norfolk, VA(Zone 8a)

thank you Violabird. That one sure is pretty.
