I did not get these seeds in trade but when I bought them the instructions said to plant after first frost, so I did just that, and now the weather turned into the 50s this is what I found this morning, they are all coming up, now will they get killed of to the point of not comming up next spring.
crazy Indiana weather
depends on what they were. perinials may have a chance. i have bulbs coming up right now that arent supposed to be.
i always plant in march that way i know for sure nothing is going to pop up before it needs too.
pine straw them is all i know to do. its the weather and its a bummer .
yep it is crazy, I went looking around the garden, first I saw these coming up, then in my Lily patch there are lilyies about two inches high and one have a lovely purple bloom.
A friend of mine (also in Columbus, OH) just had all her Irises bloom. She had the most beautiful bearded irises in late November (still has 2 big buds about to open IN DECEMBER!)
yes Mary their weather is like ours, even my butterfly bush looks like it os going to burst into bloom, greenest it's been all year
If there perennials they should be fine.I sow seeds in the fall, winter, spring;after all that's what nature does.Jody
I agree, our weather is crazy! We have dandelions in bloom in Dec. My calendulas are bright and blooming like it was the middle of the summer. I hope we keep this weather all winter, but I know there is a slim chance of that. LOL. Lou
dispatcher1 that would be great.LOL.Jody
Hi Dispatcher, your not that far from me
I enjoyed the 59 degree weather yesterday, I will love my heat bill. I don't think this weather is good for all of the perennials though.(Especially the bulbs)
What kind of seeds were they?
Geez, we're still waiting for our first freeze. Whats up with this weather, anyway?
Of course, im looking at all my brug sticks that i've cut the tops off of thinking man, i could've had weeks more of blooms. .
well we have had crazy weather, had another tornadoe touchdown yesterday just five miles away from me
(gasp) were the brugs safe? Just kidding, i hope everything was okay. We had one touch down a couple of weeks ago...i was almost jobless because it touched town within the same parking lot of my restaurant ; (
YES my Brug seedlings are all in the house, my son says he has never seen so many 'house plants' in one place
