Well - they say they have 9 lives....Stubby used up one more yesterday I think. He fell off the balcony falling 10 feet onto broken glass from the vase on the plant shelf below the balcony rail that he knocked over on his way down - and ended up with a split muzzle that required internal and external stitches (7 on the outside) and luckily - nothing broken! This all happened yesterday around 1pm. My DH was on the way home from out of town when it happened....so once I saw the blood and the wound, I just threw a blanket over the major part of the glass to keep other cats away from him, scooped Stubby up and took off to the emergency vet. Needless to say, I had a lot of adrenalin running....and I'm still feeling the effects of the "down". Hubby came home to blood spots on the floor and broken glass everywhere.....and it took me a while to get a hold of him....he was a bit scared as well. Stubby is gonna be fine though and even though he slept a lot last night, he was back to his kitten self this morning....it's not slowed him down much at all. We've never had a cat attempt to even get on the shelf or on the balcony railing and never in our wildest dreams thought something like this could happen. We've removed everything else off the shelf for now...although I'm not sure he'd attempt it again. Never know though. So - say a prayer for his recovery and for mine! LOL! I've got a pic I took of him last night I'll post later.
