Thanks everyone for compliments. Just double shop light above them in ceiling, they are all blooming their little hearts out. Smell is out of this world, leave the basement door open at top into kitchen, you can smell them. Think I died and went to Heaven! This new one is a seedling.

Yes, Kell momma moth is pollinating like crazy!

You don't use any fancy shmancy grow lights?
Do I understand correctly "shop lights" you mean just regular florescent lights?
Again, gorgeous color.
I wish we had "scratch and sniff" computers.

Gloria, you came to my house and took pictures in my basement without coming upstairs to say hi? Your basement looks just like mine, full of plants! Even though it's rainy & yucky outside, I'm getting exercise, running up & down the stairs to smell the flowers!

Gloria,

What is it? You said a seedling. What kind of seed? When did you plant it? We newbies really need to know that there is a light at the end of that tunnel. I have my first seeds sprouting now and sure would like to know what to expect.

It is beautiful.

Thanks for compliments. This a brug seedling from Susie. I have not even thought of naming it(would contact Calla first), until I see the color in couple more blooms. I have a couple of hers' hoping for blooms shortly. I have them upstairs with lots of windows/heat. B x L, R x L, L x B, Dbl. Golden Lady x Bert, etc. Wish me luck, will post pic if I get some more blooms.

Does your basement get any outside light, or just the shop lights, I have a huge basement but very small windows, and it is warm, maybe I should start seedlings down there.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I start my seedlings upstairs under florescent lights. Temps around 70+. Then move them to a S/E window to grow, if the sun ever shines......

Basement has one small window, but florescent lights hanging from ceiling. Temps are 62 to 70 degrees. Keep my big/older ones growing all winter down there, they bloom some, if bugs don't get a headstart before! Have some growing in the old sauna room/shelves, florescent lights. Most of them have lots of leaves, just like growing outside in summer.

Gloria,

You said a Brug seedling from Susie. Did she say what kind of seed it was? Why would you name it? You lost me.

When did you start the seed? Is this one that you maybe started this time last year? Is this your "cycle"?

Sorry to be so ignorant, but some of us need to learn.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Ask away, we all started back where you are. If I can answer and help in anyway, will do so.

Started some of these last year Jan/Feb. Some bloomed this summer, now getting second and third blooms. Color, shape, long tendrils, fragrance, disease/bug resistance are what we are looking for in the new named brugs.
