Have any of you ever used it? What sort of success have you had?
GA3
Did you ask in the propagation forum? I don't even know where to get the stuff. I'm going to Shelmerdine's next week, so I'll see if they carry it.
Well, now, you've caught my interest! Do you eat it, grow it, what ??????????????????? E
It's Gibberellic Acid Elaine.
Found this site: http://www.crfg.org/tidbits/gibberellic.html
Hopefully someone will come along that's used it.
I knew about Gibberellic acid, but had never seen that acronym either...it sounded like something you'd put in your car...lol :-) Thanks for making the connection for us, Pam.
Hmmpf...GA3, Gibberellic acid..it's all Greek to me!!
Gibberellic acid (GA) is a very potent hormone whose natural occurrence in plants controls their development.
OK then...
I have never used gibberellic acid but I know you can order it online from here:
http://gardensnorth.com
there are apparently a dozen or more gibberellic compounds all of which are involved in regulating plant growth
i was looking for seeds for double and triple daturas and found a site that recommends using GA3 with the metel varieties so had to go looking for what it was
had i known it existed i would have purchased some last year for the passiflora, hellebore and every other hard to germinate (which for me is anything other than lettuce and marigolds) and expensive!! seed i bought
apparently there are research studies underway in which any of us can participate to determine beneficial or otherwise effects of GA3
in certain doses it has no effect, others promote much more rapid germination, others cause flowering defects and leaf elongation
have to get more info before trying it
Joelle, J L Hudson sells it. I was looking up something else on their site. I was thinking about ordering it.
