Chinese Pistache - Allergic Reaction

Hi all.

My wife was at a Client's house today. She was beginning to prune the client's roses, when she brushed her neck up against a Chinese Pistache Tree.

4 hours later, we just arrived home from the emergency room. She was diagnosed with a severe allergy to all tree-nut trees. We were advised that she couldn't handle any walnut, almond wood. Even for the fireplace. We would have never guessed that just making contact with the pistache tree would cause a trip to the E.R.

Has anyone else come across this situation? Any further info. as to what other plant/trees in the Anacardiaceae Family could cause a reaction? We were not only amazed to the severety of her reaction to the pistache, but also to find out that Smoke Trees could cause a similar reaction!
