Pomelo seeds anyone?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

These are fresh, collected from a tree ripened pink fleshed variety of pomelo(it's like a grapefruit). SASBE with 49 cents postage is all I need. I have 3 packs of 10 seeds.

They sell these around here. I have been trying to like them. A bit tart!

Do they grow true from seed?

CC, you are going to need a huge conservatory to match your plant lust! Or I should say tree lust! LOL How are your lemon trees?

CC, they are supposed to come true from seed. Kell, I agree, a bit tart, lol. I thought it tasted like a grapefruit/watermelon cross, kind of weird.

Oh yeah Kell, you're one to talk
At least I have room to spread them out
You on the other hand need the whole county to grow yours LOL

As for the lemons....

Ya know
I have no idea
the GH is so crowded I can't see how anything is doing
I had a good size lime on my one tree before I stuffed everything in the GH....
No clue if its still on there

kell...

I find grapefruit to be tarter than pomelo.

One of the folks at our farmer's market gave me the following tip: If you leave pomelo to age a bit at room temperature before eating, they sweeten. Wait until the fruit are really fragrant. Might be a couple weeks. I did that and the last one I ate was delicious.

I like them a lot, however, eating them is a bit of a project.

My pomello seeds have started sprouting that I got from Calalily.
I'm so excited!
