We were just watching Spokane's weather forcast. Haven't see the BC forcast yet...I'm afraid to watch. The forecast that was supposed to be warmer until it culimnated in a +12 degrees day on Saturday, has now changed! According to Spokane's forcast, they are expecting a major winter storm tomorrow into Saturday morning. I don't think we'll miss this one as it appears to be coming in from the Pacific and then descending right down over southern BC and into Washington and Idaho. Spokane is expecting 6-12 inches of snow tomorrow and Saturday. Yikes! I don't know if I am strong enough to survive this snow attack if it comes! Please pray for me that I don't commit Hairy Kairy before Sunday if we get that much of the dreaded white stuff! My husband says I have to buck up and face the fact that snow HAS to come. I'll try, but if it gets really bad...and you don't hear from me, don't try and track me down, 'cause I'll be so far South of here, nobody will ever be able to find me. I'll be hiding in the Palm Trees!
Pray for me!!
LOLOL......be sure to sign in and tell us how it is in Mexico! ;)
I thought you had a real problem.
Yikes, I got scared when I saw the title of this thread! Relieved to know it's just melodrama ;-) hee hee Be strong, Donna - you can do it.
Oh, Wow-I thought there was really something in need here..Till I went threw it all..
You will be fine Brenda ,tip toeing threw sandy beaches and the radiant sun beaming down on you...You'll forget everything from home, and us sincerely
battling the real extrems of notherly winds here..LOL
Have a wonderful trip, prayers for the your safety.
Be Blessed, Ingrid
Donna so is any of the white stuff falling yet????
No, but it's getting darker and darker and is very overcast. Funny though, the BC weather forecaters from Vancouver kinda down played the storm, but as late as Noon today, Spokane is still warning people of the Inland Northwest to brace for a bad Snow storm with accumulations possibly amounting to 6-12 inches. So we'll see.
But as I was telling Tutti Frutti from Spokane, I went out at lunch time and looked lovingly at our still beautiful green grass, caressed it and tried to carve the memory of that sweet smelling ground cover into my brain so that I can recall it from memory again in the miserable month of January!
It's starting! Coming down now as ice pellets. Sigh...
LOL..........weren't you the one that told us Canadians to "Buck Up"??? ;)
Oh, I do believe you are right Pam! for shame.
You're right! I am ashamed...:( But I have to come to terms with it. When it's on the ground, I can deal with it. Not thrilled... but dealing with it. I don't know or understand why it is so hard for me, I have lived in the prairies all my life..but somehow over the last 10 years or so, it's like my tolerance level has slowly dwindled... I don;t know how to describe it... I wish I felt differently!

(My tongue is in my cheek a little bit). Just think of it in a more positive way Donna. It reflect what little sunlight in the few hours we get it and makes everything brighter. It puts a gentle blanket over our slumbering plants to protect them from the cold wind. Before you know it it will be February and all melted. You remember what a cold wind is like? You really are a wimp.
I am now Echoes. And I love and deserve it. I spent so many years walking to work or school in that "bitter" North wind, makeup running down your face, cheeks frozen....ahh the memories.
But you are right Echoes, if I wasn't thinking so selfishly, I would appreciate the fact that the snow is the perfect insulator for my Roses, Rhodys, Hydrangeas and Delphiniums. And really it isn't even half bad here. It never really gets "that" cold, and even tonight with the snow flying, the temperature is only -1. I don't know what I have to compalain about...and I am ashamed.
*Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow*
Love the little tag pictures you're posting. AND if ya wanta complain about snow go ahead. Nobody likes 'dealing' with the white stuff, much less driving in it. And I'm with you I haaate being cold. It's what drove me out of the Northeast many a moon ago.
So how are you doing now Donna? Buried under yet???
Nope, actually it's still coming down lightly and looks quite pretty. We have had a couple cm so far, but it's supposed to keep snowing all day and into tomorrow. So we could end up with 10 cm by the time it quits. But the temperature is sitting at 0 celcius, which is average here, so it's not too bad. After it snows some more, I'll run out with my trusty little digital and take some shots. I hear we are sharing this stuff with points east. Hope you all enjoy. *I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, La, la La La ..*
-9 here and should be dropping to -14 later this aft. Send the snow please!
Well, here it is in all of it's glory!
DH, doggie and I went walking in it this morning. Very tough going. Dog loved it. Really heavy and slushy snow. It's above 0 now, so it's melting as it is snowing. Hopefully it won't turn to rain and then freeze tonight, or we be in big caca...
That's my pond and waterfall back there all covered up...can't wait 'til spring!

Yeppers that does look pretty especially against your trees! "Above zero now"......just how cold do your winters get Donna?
Just love the old crow and cute chick under the baby Christmas tree.
LOL, funny you should mention that Blooms. We have had that little sign for a number of years now, and now that the cute chick has gotten "slightly"...ahem older, this sign may become a problem. On Halloween night, DH and I were taking turns going to the door, and once when DH went, a little boy (maybe 10 years old) says "I wanna see the Cute Chick!" I was sitting in the living room where he couldn't see me, but I could hear him, and my DH said something about the cute chick being too busy to come to the door right now, thank God! Can you imagine if my DH would have called me or if I had been the one going to the door? It could have been a disaster! Poor kid probably would have died laughing!!!
Yep, may have to take that sign down soon...
Lilypon, it never gets that cold here. Our average temperature hovers around the 0 to -3 on average as a daytime high. Lows rarely go below -10. Last year we had -20 for two days in January, and every body's pipes were freezing and you talk about complaining....Geesh.
Donna /Blooms/everyone else in Canada have your seen this thread??? http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/472191/
Donna ........ :b
Now wouldn't that be nice! If we got snow and it only lasted a few hours....Sigh...Donna, thou shalt not have Zone Envy!...
WoW, thanks, STRANGE weather we're having.
Donna, what a *beautiful* yard and house you have!!! I love your snow pics. You gotta admit, isn't it just a little bit pretty with all that snow...? ;-)
