Great photo...is this your garden Kathi? Love the color of the block wall, it really shows up the plants!

I got board with the ugly beige walls so I went to Home Depot, pickup up a terra cotta pot, had the paint matched and sprayed the walls. Yes this is my yard I have 1/3 of an acre in a housing development.

This agave is NOT tequilana... it is vilmoreana, or something like that (don't have the spelling right in front of me)... also called the Octopus AGave. Note the curved, relatively rubbery leaves- A tequilana has stiff viciously sharp leaves with small teeth along the margins.

another way to tell them apart is the spines... tequilana has a very sharp, dangerous black spine at the end of each leaf, while Octupus agaves have no terminal spine worth noting.. leaves just taper harmlessly.

Well, whichever it is, the picture is still gorgeous!
