Will someone adopt my bamboo? They used to be my brother's but of course they were passed off to me for care but I don't really know what to do with them.
These are fixer uppers, they have brown leaves, I have no idea where I went wrong but hopefully someone will know what to do. These are those kind that were really popular a few years ago, the kind you grow in water with pebbles.
I'm guessing shipping would be around 2 pounds.
Bamboo
I would LOVE to take your bamboo and would give it a wonderful home. I have a little of it- I started with it being a little dead looking thing and now it is big and beautiful. I kept it in a pot but am now ready to let it lose in a nice soggy area!
Can I paypal you postage?
Capt,
It sound like ou have what is commonly called "lucky bamboo" which is not actually a bamboo but rather in the draceana family and are not really meant to be long lived despite it's name. I have one on my desk at work and it does well so far. I've had it about 4 months. Still nice and green. Since I also have a small 1 gal aquarium on my desk with a beta, I use the water from the aquarium to water the plant. So far, it seems to like it.

budgielover--I know they say the lucky bamboo is a short life plant but I have had mine for almost 4 years now and it is still going and green. Mine doesn't get any sunlight at all, only the light from the kitchen light overhead. I used to use distilled water for it but for the last year I have been using only regular county tap water and it doesn't seem to mind at all. It is a very easy plant to take care of.
At our local Walmart, I saw where they had the lucky (friendship) bamboo in a large vase with those glass rocks at the bottom to hold it. And swimming around the lucky bamboo's stalk was a beta fish. It really was neat looking. You might would like to try that too. It was pretty.
Yup, they're all going to Cyberageous.
I'll share!
One of my co-workers has one with the fish also. He's had it for about a year and they're both doing fine. 4 yrs is a long time..
