Old Time Recipes for Crumb Pie

I visit another site and someone asked if anyone had a recipe for Crumb Pie; I found several which I am posting. Anyone remember ever eating one of these?

Vanilla Crumb Pie
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. maple syrup
2 c. water
2 tbsp. Flour

Boil together 1 minute and set aside. In a large bowl, beat:
1 egg
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda

Add to the above syrup mixture. Then divide equally in 3 unbaked pie shells. Top with crumbs made of:
2 c. pastry flour
1/2 c. lard
1/2 tsp. Soda
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Bake 45 minutes in 350 to 375 degree oven.

PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH MOLASSES CRUMB PIE

Ingredients :
1 cup molasses
2 cup boiling water
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup brown sugar

2 unbaked 9" deep-dish pie crusts

CRUMBS:
2 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt

Preparation :
Beat egg slightly; add dry ingredients and then stir in molasses
and boiling water. Put in refrigerator and chill while making and
crumbs.
Mix dry ingredients and shortening into fine crumbs. Alternate crumbs
and liquid in unbaked pie shell, starting and ending with crumbs.
Bake in 375 degree oven for 35 minutes.
Makes two deep 9 inch pies.

OLD TIME MOLASSES PIE

Ingredients :
4 eggs, beaten slightly
1 cup thick dark molasses
1 cup sugar
4 tbsp. melted butter
3 tbsp. flour
Sprinkle of nutmeg
Unbaked pie shell

Preparation :
Mix all together except the crust. Pour the mixture into the
shell and bake in a slow oven at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
