I bought these seeds from Susie last year. They bloomed out just in time. We had our first frost last night and it got down to 27 degree's. Winter is for sure here for us in N. California.

My yard got frosted!! It is way too early for a bad frost! My brugs look so much worse than they did at the end of last winter. I guess we are in for a very bad one! I am so glad we got Sexy Lady in the hoophouse Sunday.
I could kick myself for not cutting the mini's from the rented plots on Sunday for Ronna and Scoot when I was there. I am sure the stems are still fine but they will now be so stressed.
I had left out a few seedlings, first time budded in my courtyard, the tops are totally limp. And since they just are tops and a long trunk, the flowers are goners too. I could just kick myself.
u too Kell? well it got to 17ºF here this morning. the immediate surrounding Jack Frost had a grand time spreading the white stuff :(. at 8 p.m. last night it was 28ºF. am glad that i had brought indoors the few selected ones. i doubt very much if we had the bad ones. i hope i am wrong but the worst is yet to come :(.

I am not sure about the trendils because we were in the low 50's during the day's and in the low 30's at night when this one bloomed out. I love the shape of the bloom. It is a little different from all the other brugs. I have.
I do make some of my stepping stones, however the one I think that probably caught your eye, which is a rabbit , my husband bought for me.
Kell, mine looks just like yours. I had been cutting off limbs almost daily working on getting all my cuttings in. But I still had some to take. I was working for my husband yesterday and when I got off I ran home and started cutting the rest down . They look so pitiful.
That's a pretty yellow color. I like it.
Kell and others now I feel bad about complaining about 50* we have here at night! It seems like it's way too early for it to be getting so cold out there. I hope it's not a sign of a bad winter to come.

It has been too cold to even try to smell them. That is one of the reason's I want to grow it out again next year. Also the color was such a deep yellow even with the temps. so cold. All my other yellow/orange collored brugs were a light pastel in the cold.

That is sure too bad about your plants getting hit with a freeze. Too bad you didn't get our snow instead. I always hope and pray for the snow before it starts freezing real hard. It is good insulation. Plus, if it snows that means there is a good cloud cover and won't freeze any time soon.
I love the blooms Patricia. Any you can get just puts winter off that much later. I bought some seeds from Susie that I will be starting in the spring. Hope they are as nice. I am sure they will be.
