Solomon, is right in our back yard....Hi, Lana, and welcome! E

North Vancouver, B.C, Canada

This is my very first time. Thanks for the very warm welcome from all of you. Solomon refers to my dearly departed black lab and DOES not mean I'm wise regarding plants! I wish!
Like all of you, I am here to learn and have some fun too. I live in Deep Cove in B.C., like my mentors Sunrize, Brugnut and Roselaine.
My favourite plants are Begonias, Lilies and Ferns of all kinds.
Cheers, Solomon.

What a gorgeous Begonia, Solomon. I am kinda partial to Begonias myself. I tried something new (for me) this year. I had a couple of beauties this past summer and decided to dry them out and recover the Bulb/tubers and store them for the winter in peat moss like my dahlias and cannas. I don't know if it will work, but it was worth a try I thought. :)

Welcome from another Manitoban. So thats what we are Echoes.

Beautiful begonia Solomon. You have a "fern friend" in me; I'm fairly new to them, but have 6 that are challenging me at present. I'm also a hard-core hoya enthusiast. Looking forward to seeing more of your plants and flowers.
Christine.

Well Hi there Lana! It's nice to have you join us. One of these days Sunrize is going to blindfold you and bring you over for a visit.

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

You sparked my interest ladies. I had to look up Deep Cove, N.Van on the internet. My, my, what a lovely area you live in, ladies. Do all four of you have views of the ocean?

Welcome Lana.

WELCOME SOLOMAN to the rowdy, DG passionate growers of just about every plant on our planet.

Your picture appears to be Wax Begonia Begonia semperflorens, Begoniacea.

Mine is in full bloom, as we speak, placed in greenhouse.

Southeast Texas is having record-breaking low temperatures this winter of 2004.
Santa did not bring my d. c. so can't upload my blooming begonia :(

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

welcome to DG hope you can join us for the roundup in April. I too love begonias - backyard faces north and there are few plants that give the color of begonias in the shade.

donna, I have always saved mine with great results. Only problem here is that after 3 to 4 years they can't store enough nutrients in the bulbs for the length of growing season I put them thru (they are generally blooming in my windows in early april) so have to give them a decent burial after 3 seasons or so

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Good to know, Lynn. Thanks.
