Hello Hanna1 and Trois, yes this tree turned a beautiful color, but it only lasted 3 days, the the wind and the rain took it all down, but it sure was nice while it lasted. Thank you for your comments.
Josephine.

Now in Orlando, FL(Zone 9b)

Same here. The leaves fall off very quickly.

Hi Frostweed,

We just planted two Honey Locust, 24 June, '05, approximately 10' tall. I read with interest Member comments that the Honey Locust can be invasive. I am new to this world of live plants, and am most excited about the beauty of this plant, and its delicate leaves.......such grace, and really 'LOVE' your Autumn photo of the Honey Locust. I plan on taking some photos of these two new 'babies,' and will upload them for posting.

What do you mean by "under control?" I would love to hear from you, any and all experience you have
had with these beautiful Honey Locust.

The only problem with these trees are the big thorns. If a small branch breaks off of something dislodges some of the thorns, they can puncture tires and shoes if care is not used. I think they are a beautiful tree, and locating the trees in such a place to minimize the thorn problem should make everyone happy. This is not a tree for climbing.

To Trois:

These Honey Locust are getting more and more interesting. I have a thornless, but the information on the thorny type is most valuable. And the anecdote on--"not a tree for climbing," needs to be stated. :-)

Appreciate any and all information from members' on this beautiful tree.

All trees do not need to be climbed. Some just need to be beautiful.

Ours, early in the morning, looks like out of Africa, against the new dawn.
