Now this is a stunner Ursula, you have such beautiful wild plants we don't get to see much of over this way thanks for sharing!

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Thanks, Baa. Isn't it beautiful?

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

Gorgeous shot. It is difficult to focus on small flowers like this. Usually you get the background. Nice job. Please continue to share your environment with us.

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Thanks, Pot, I will.

Blenheim, New Zealand

Love the dainty blue flowers with the white stamens, real nice pic.

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Thanks, Boot.

I love the color of the flowers, Ursula, in this photograph. The plant must be awesome to see in real life. Would you happen to have any seeds of it to trade?

Thanks, Joseph. I have only found them growing as single plants, but saw a picture of a Pasithea colony in a meadow that was breathtaking.

Sorry, no seeds.

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

Thanks, Trois, but once again my friend Ricardo is the one that deserves the congratulations.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Gorgeous photo, Ursula and Ricardo. It should be in a book or calendar. Thanks for posting it.

I love this plant. Where can I find this plant? carolyn

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Thanks, Shannon. I'm sure Ricardo will be delighted when he reads this thread. Since men in this country still have many 'macho' attitudes, Ricardo's collegues often tease him about his love for native plants. Your comments will confirm he is doing something great.

Sorry, Carolyn. I cannot answer to your question.

Ursula, that means he's demonstrating bravery, to do something different from the ideas of society. He's making connections with people in other places, and with the natural world which we are part of. Thanks to both of you for bringing these wonderful pictures to us!

San Jose, CA(Zone 9b)

Just gorgeous, Ursula. They are so delicate looking and such a lovely color. Thanks for sharing.

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

So Happy I bought these seeds from you ! All the seeds we bought exciting ! Thank you :))

I was able to germinate seeds of this species, Ursula (from a 2005 trade with you)...looking forward to the journey of growth until the flowers appear. Does it take a few years to flowering age like other bulb-like plants?

Good news!

My reference book says they 'might' bloom the first year, but I suppose that is more likely to happen in a Mediterranean type climate and planted in the ground vs. container. It also says they usually bloom from the second year on if grown from seeds. Anyway, a much shorter period than for other bulb plants.

You will love them!

I like that good news! Thanks!!

Joseph
