Narcissus, Paperwhite Daffodil 'Ziva'

I recently bought 10 Narcissus, Paperwhite Daffodil 'Ziva' and put 5 in a bowl with stones, watered then and kept the cool till they were about 4 in. high. The I brought them inside and the sprung up to 20 in. and began to bloom. I had assumed that they would or should remain errect and not flop but maybe I was wrong. The seen to always bend away from light. Then they were bending all over the place....some center piece this was! I tied them together for a while but even that did not help.

What's going on? They are not much use flopping all over!!

Paperwhites need to be put in the light from day one on. And the more light the better. I have Ziva flowering at 8 inches tall. They are on the south side of the house and beautiful. Also, if in a room that is too warm, they tend to stretch as well.....light is the solution.
