yellow leaves

PNW, WA(Zone 8a)

Well, I thought I was doing my Hibiscus's a good turn by bringing them in the house. It's getting so cold outside. So, now the leaves are turning yellow and falling off and in some cases falling off before they even turn yellow. I'm not going to be happy if I lose them. Might as well left them outside.

They will grow new leaves. Mine did this too, but the new leaves are coming in good and thick now.

Thank you Brugie that makes me feel so much better. I guess they just have to get use to the change in temp.

Robin, I had some hibiscus that I brought into the house when the temps outside were as warm as inside. Those didn't lose their leaves at all. It was the ones that I didn't get in until the weather was much cooler that showed the stress. I sure was glad to see them leaf back out again. LOL! Thought I had killed them.

I've read that Hibiscus (tropical anyways) are very susceptible to environmental changes and that leaf drop and yellowing is VERY common when you move them to a new location whether that's outside-in, inside-out, or even a new spot in your yard.

They have aclimated to indoors and the drop has stopped. I'm fertilizing them so hopefully new leaves are not far behind.
