Melody, do you know what that red bush is to the left of the tree?

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Euonymus atropurpureus....burningbush.

gorgeous huge tree, I wonder how old it is? and that Burning Bush so striking! Annie

It's roughly 10-12 years old...belongs to my neighbor, as does the burning bush, which incidently was supposed to be the dwarf form....it obviously was mislabeled.

Melody, I know, so many plants we buy are labeled wrong!! Still gorgeous looking as is! Annie

If that's the same thing as Euonymus atropurpureus (different spelling than that listed here at PDB), that's a native and endangered plant here in the great state of Florida. Euonymus americanus is also native and probably more realistic for my area. I think that's also called hearts-a-burstin' or strawberry bush if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for the info.
