imzadi,

I have a 'Gold Flame' honeysuckle (Lonicera x heckrottii) http://davesgarden.com/pdb/go/56089/index.html Tell me how to do it and I'd be happy to take a shot at rooting a cutting for you.

you are supposed to stick a piece in the ground still attached to the main plant and let it root that way is what i am told.

Hi, I just wanted to give you a little piece of information about the way my grandma taught my mother how to propagate stems & cuttings (her thing was roses.) Grandma use to cut a 1/4" deep cut across the bottom of the part she was using, going downward into the stem, then without hesitation, she'd yank a strand of her long black hair and stuff it inside of the crossed cut, making sure to stuff it in real hard in the cross. This lets the stem stay open without getting molded before it tkaes root.
Human hair shrinks and expands with the moisture content, but it will keep it open enough to help it grow roots. By the time the hair fades away, the stem could a mature bush. LOL!

The 'Pink Lemonade' is so pretty! I'm so sorry you lost it.

I'm taking the directions to mean you'll take a rooted cutting of 'Gold Flame'. The moon is perfect for it tomorrow and Sunday so I'll do both cuttings and layering this weekend! Surely one will take...

I'll keep you up to date on how it goes.

thanks Donna. yes if it roots it will have a home in a heartbeat. honeysuckles are one of my favorites. they are hard to get here because the regular white ones grow every where . so trying to get different types is hard. i wont turn any down at all.
