How much is too much?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I wonder what causes recurve. I have one brug that opens and almost immediately goes into strong recurve. Others seem to do it only in the cold. While others seem to do it as the bloom ages, getting more severe as time goes on. I remember someone saying it was a come hither to pollinators.

I love a little!
The second picture of Pinkmond is my favorite shape!

But if it goes too much further, I am not as thrilled!

Beautiful... what are we doing up at this time of the morning? DH isn't feeling well so I'm up "taking care of him".

Kell, My B. rosamond x L'amour does the same thing. It starts out very open with the trendils out and then slowly recurves as it ages. But we have also been in the mid 40's to high 30's at night.

I also like them better before they recurve too much and the tendrils get lost in the recurve. All are pretty, but I like to see those nice long tendrils.

I think the Pinkmond is ideal when it comes to recurve and is a lovely brug. I don't like it all when they curve up into a roll because you cannot see the true beauty of the tendrils or shape of the flower.

I agree that a little is nice .

When the re-curve gets so strong that it distorts the shape of the flower is a major turn-off for me.

I am with you Shirley. I like some recurve but not to much
