Yes, I agree. Thanks again, Keyring! I think the Chirita tamiana is my favorite, and mine has also bloomed. Critter, why are they infamous? Is there something I should know about them??

In part it's my attempt at humor..lol :)
Infamous because according to Keyring, they bloom and bloom without much hassle, they set seed very easily, grow from seed with no hassles and are happy just about anywhere... unlike our sweet darling AV's.
If they ain't happy -nobody's happy.lol

True - I found a place in my home they love and I ain't gonna move them.
Well, none of mine have set seed yet, so maybe that part is not true. However, they are like many other gesneriads in that one seed pod will produce a few hundred seeds and germination rate will be 140%. I just potted a few up into a round red glazed bowl for the holidays. It is sitting under lights right now and should be blooming well in a few weeks time.

What causes that?

I'm not sure. Sometimes, if the moisture level fluctuates too much, seed pods will abort. Other times, sibling crosses are more successful than selfings. If I had to guess, I would say that these plants are just too young. (Although some of the sinningias seeded on their first blooms.)
Ah, okay. Infamous in a good way, at least in my opinion since they're my favorite! Yes, I was lucky enough to get one, too. :)
I am so very fond of AV because they bloom so much and I am sure if this little girl keeps going I will love her almost as much.
