Rothkirch is blooming again!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

She is a pretty little bloom. I think I may finally have rooted a few also! This one was tough for me. I have noticed she does seem to share her long tendrils with her offspring!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Beautiful and to think the tendrils are a dominant trait in offspring.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I've come back to look at those tendrils three or four times today.

GOD's Green Earth, United States(Zone 8b)

That's a beautiful bloom, Kell! I sure love her tendrils :)

So pretty!

San Jose, CA(Zone 9b)

Wow, those are the longest tendrils I ever seen! Very impressive.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Did you miss me Gloria? LOL. I went to the rented plots after work with a flash light. I could not believe the brugs. Even the abused ones are bouncing back with fast growth! The brugs have gotten huge.... not tall but so fat and just full of leaves and flowers. I must go back and catalogue all the blooms with the crosses in the day light. Then I came home and went for our daily walk with my DH! So now it is after midnight on the East coast and I missed all the Brug forum fun! You are all asleep! But Donna will be on in a while. She keeps me company!

Here is a comparison photo of Butterfly. Both RK and BF were on their first day open. Look identical but short tendrils!!

What a beauty kell ;-D

I'm so glad to hear that all is not lost at your 'Brug Farm'

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

It is pinker today and yes......those beautiful long tendrils. I did not realize until you showed the comparison how much Butterfly and Rothkirch do look alike except for the tendrils. I think Butterfly is an awesome brug and I can hardly wait for my Rothkirch to bloom. I just cannot imagine that beauty in person.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I hope yours gets darker than mine ever did, Frannie! Mine has always been a baby pink!

Here is a new seedling from today. First day, looks similar! But it actually is more than double in size and hangs more pendant than the above ones.

Do I see a hint of pink there??? Unbelievable . . more than double in size. I just don't know how you sleep at night. LOL....I just remembered, you don't.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Frannie. You should have seen my most special seedling today! 4 blooms and they are huge. Not dark pink like it was before but I know it will be so dark in summer. Now that was ecstasy!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

kell, so good to know tour Brugs are repairing themselves, the tendrils on that one is breathtaking.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Gorgeous blooms, l-o-n-g tendrils! Thanks for sharing.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Had to come again .... show us more, please Kell!!

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Kell, beautiful brug, beautiful photos. Donna

San Jose, CA(Zone 9a)

kell...my first thought was adversity either kills us or it makes us stronger...it sounds like your brugs will be stronger for the abuse they took!! Horaay !! Nature is wonderful isn't it?!

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow, I love those tendrils! Your plant looks so healthy and happy. I hope to have RK one day. (No, that's not a hint... I am maxed out on brugs this winter... even if someone offered me a double blue brug I'd turn them down :-)

Hawesville, KY(Zone 6a)

Just beautiful Kell:
Still unbelievable somebody could destroy such beauty .Just wonderful Pics thanks for letting us see them.Someday I hope for heat in the greenhouse I'll fill it up with Brugs.I shouldn't even look at them it just gets me in more trouble they are addicting.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Great pictures, Kell.

Tom, if someone offered me a double blue, I'd build a greenhouse for it. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Well, Tom I am planning a new Thanksgiving contest for next week and the prize will be a RK plant! I just hope they really are rooted!
