My small pond

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I finally got the pond looking they way I wanted, and also the fish have a little rock house to hide in when the wading birds come for a visit.
Thanks for checkin' it out.

Very nice, Ric. Those of us from the North are all drooling over your flowers and greenery what with our ponds being "closed" until spring. Is that a litttle suspension bridge in Pic #1, or are my old eyes deceiving me?

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

Thanks OldFlowerGirl,
Yep, my little brother made the bridge out of a sushi rolling mat and some ropes.
The average winter nightly lows stay around 55. So its a year round pond. The water plants kinda die back for a month or two, but come up again in March.

Nice pond, love The Buddha statue.

Ric, I think you need a bit of snow to give it the right touch! I'll see if we can send some your way! LOL!! I've got an inch of ice already and we're just getting started. Sometimes I envy you living in such a warm, comfy zone - that is until hurricane season or August, which ever comes first. LOL! Nice work.

Lovely, ricfl,
My gosh, average winter night stays at 55. I am envious. My pond is put to bed for the winter and looks so barren. Suspension bridge and Buddha are wonderful. I like how natural it looks, too.

Thanks.....Shadow, I have had that buddha for years and will always bring it with me wherever I go.
DRH and pax, I know all about the cold and the snow, I have a place in Brookline Mass. I visit often but the warmth and the garden pulls me back to Florida. Yes the hurricanes really did a number on me(mental stress) and the plants(physical stress), but we have both recovered lol.

Gorgeous Ric!

I like the idea of the garden house for wading birds!

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

Hi Ric,
Can I pop by some time to take a peek at it? I would love to put one in next summer but I'm looking for ideas first.

POND IN A POT- Video

cannot wait to try this for our deck as our yard is not suitable for a "real" pond. The best part of this easy project is that we all have different size pots and basically just have to buy the little water circulator.

Call up assoc.garden.org

under "Get Smart TV" you will see video clip "Pond in a Pot"
