I have a couple navel oranges on my little tree, and I am wondering when to pick them. Both are just about orange, but still have some greenish tint to them. Do I need to wait until they are full orange? Oh, and they are about the right size to be ripe, too (softball size or slightly smaller). I'll try to get a pic in the morning, didn't think about it today, unfortunately.
thanks!
Navel Oranges - When ripe?
We gently tug on ours, and if they come off easily in our hand, they are ripe.
Somewhere I was told that citrus needs to stay "in the rind" for 2-3 days when ripe for the sugars to develope in the fruit. Is that true?
