Welcome to the Garden! Pull up a comfortable chair and join the many fun and educational conversations going on here. You're sure to make a world of new friends and have fun as we all share our gardening experiences. The first Saturday in May 2005, we have our 3rd Annual Iowa Round-Up right here in Des Moines. That's where you'll get a chance to meet and visit face-to-face with so many of these great Dave's Gardener's that you will have met here. Gardening in Iowa is a natural and we are all just naturally glad you've joined us. Looking forward to learning more about your gardening passions. Again, Welcome to the Garden, mkeilers, you've found a good place to grow.

Welcome from another new Iowa member. I just joined a month or so ago. I live in Cedar Rapids. I haven't found my way around on DG too much yet, but probably will this winter! Right now, I've been busy getting everything done before winter and planting LOTS of bulbs for spring color. I have another afternoon to go and hopefully tomorrow - temps in the 60s don't happen much mid to late November! So welcome and hope to see you around. Linda

Brugie - what rose is that and do you do anything special to have it grow in Iowa? It's sensational!

My first response must have gotten lost in the ozone. Thank you everyone for the welcome! It's so wonderful in here!

Mindy, I don't remember the name without going to the flower bed and digging around. It is a David Austin rose. I have no idea how they will react to our cold winters, but I just had to try some this spring. I'm glad you like it. I thought it was a pretty color.
