Thanks for your nice comments. I love it. The papyrus is not growing in the water. The fountain is shallow and I don't want too much in there. I do grow a lotus in the pond now. It's out for the winter since it's dormant. Scared me to death when it began dormancy. I thought I'd lost it.

I do have reeds in there that I have to dig out and pot. They will take over if I don't. Silly me. The mound is covered with blue iris in the spring. I love it when that happens. But this garden looks good year around.

There's no good way to protect it but it hasn't had a problem with the cold so far.
