pond lights

PNW, WA(Zone 8a)

Last spring I bought a pond light from a guy in Hawaii off ebay. It's just a round plastic ball that changes color in the dark. I love this thing and wanted some more. I don't even have a pond I just put it in my plants. Unfortunatly I can't find him on ebay. It does take batteries but it doesn't light up till it's dark and then has several different colors. If anyone know what I'm talking about and knows where I can get more please let me know.

Here is a list of some on ebay. Some are just like on the website Oconus gave you but much cheaper.

Thank you. This will be an option if I can't find the one like mine. The one I have is a round without the flat black pannel in the top. It just looks like an white plastic ball. I don't think it's solar it just has an electric eye so it goes off and on with the light. It seems like it changes about 9 different colors.

Sure sounds nice Robin. Keep us posted if you find one; I wouldn't mind one myself. :)

sylvi74 You are wonderful! That was the thread that got me into these in the first place. I love the silly little things but couldn't find them on ebay anymore. I even tried searching by the seller but was having trouble finding exactly when I bought from him. I found the company that makes them in singapore and you would not believe what they want for shipping! The sent me an email this morning and the charge would have been 90.00 for two lights. I had given up. Low and behold the person is still selling them.

Thank you so much.

He has auctions where he's selling singles or multiples of 4 or 6. Although if you want only two I think the single is one where he has 13 available, so I'm sure you could get more than one. Take a look at it. You'll see what I mean. I'm not sure how to put links in but his ebay ID is johnmorton1234 so if you search under that or this item # 4336461231, you'll be able to see what he has to offer. I'll probably get another one now and hope that he's still doing this after Christmas a get some more. I really like that silly thing.

Robin, you are welcome! I have one that I just love in my flowerbed. It's the only thing with any color this time of year. I started off with it in my pond, but it would float to spots I couldn't see from the house. I think I like it better in the flowers. I was thinking of getting a couple for the front bed too, but hubby gets kind of worried about things that light up. Makes me take Christmas lights down in Feb!

I don't have a pond but all last summer I had it on the table on my deck surounded by plants. Never did use the table to eat on last year. :) So when I had to move the bulk of my plants indoors for the winter I put it in the shelving with my winter overs. I'd leave it outside but this time of year everything here just looks dead or so wet, gray and mushy it's no fun to even look outside. Plus I'd have to worry over the slugs walking off with it.

Thanks Robinz, I got one! Just waiting for shipping costs (Cdn) which is always a little scary!

My Pond Light arrived today. It's really very cool! John was friendly and so efficient to deal with. And very speedy delivery, a week which is pretty good considering it's coming to me here in Canada all the way from Hawaii. Did you get yours too, Robinz? Wanted to thank you again for the connection. It is going to look great in my Garden/Pond this summer.

Yes, I got another but decided to give it to my SIL for a kind of thank you present because she always feeds the whole crew of my family and the rest of my husbands family for Thanksgiving. She was thrilled, really loved it and my MIL immideatly said, OH can I have one for christmas, which I will be glad to do. It was a hit. So I think I'll buy two or three more before Christmas.

OldFlowerGirl - I also meant to say, that I'm glad that you liked yours. They are just fun and silly. John is very nice to deal with. I had mine, I think 3 or 4 days after I paid for it.

They would make wonderful gifts, I agree. I believe John has several more up for auction right now. But knowing how quick he is to ship, you could probably even wait for a while. By the time the whole family sees them, you may be shopping for a "bakers' dozen" yet! :D
