Question about software, OEM & Retail

I'm wanting to buy Microsoft Office XP Professional and I'm looking on ebay.

Can anyone tell me the difference between a "Full OEM Version" and a "Full Retail Version"? This question is for any software, not just MS Office. I just don't understand the diff between OEM and Retail other than OEM is software that usually comes already loaded when you buy a computer??? Is one a lesser "full" version than the other?
