I was pleased with the results of using Messenger on my plants this summer (late). I would like to order more and am checking to see if there is enough interest to form a co-op. Cost comparison is:
1 clamshell $9.98 = 3 pks 1 gal ea @ $3.33/gal
5 clamshell $45.00 = 15 pks 1 gal ea @ $3.00/gal
12 clamshell $96 = 36 pks 1 gal ea @ $2.67/gal
24 clamshell $132 = 72 pks 1 gal ea @ $1.83 gal
An order of 24 clamshells would be $5.50 per clamshell (3 1gal pks) shipping from Eden Bioscience is included in the price but there would be the cost of postage from me to you. That cost would vary depending on the number of clamshells you order.
Please let me know if you would be interested in doing this. If enough people would like to order, I will make formal application for a co-op.
Thanks, LindaSC
Messenger Co-op
Hi, Linda - oh, yeah..I'm in if you do this. Would probably buy 9 clamshells anyway. I plan to start early in Spring - using it on everything in my garden.
Diane Krny
I'm interested.
Brenda
I wonder if you could get a much better better price if buy a lot, Linda! Did you check with them?
Hi Diane, I want to start early too, plus I would like to have some to use on my seedlings and cuttings inside over winter. 1 gal covers quite a bit, I would probably order 5 myself.
Kell, I sent a message to Jeff, who is a member here, asking that question. I haven't heard anything back yet.
Count me in for at least 5 clamshells. I haven't tried it but have heard rave reviews.
Judy
I'd be interested too! I'll be watching!
Yvonne
I'm definitely interested too.
Well, it looks like enough interest to form a co-op. I was wrong on the shipping. It looks like $7 on 24 clamshells. The price break does not get less as you order more, it stays at $66/12 or $5.50 ea.
Edited to add that application has been submitted to the co-op administrators.

Definitely check with them, Linda. I would think we could get a lot of interest and more people would try it if it were cheaper. Did you email him thru Dave's Linda? I doubt he checks in here anymore.
Here is his email if you do not have it. mcclellanj@edenbio.com
They never charged shipping before. I wonder when they changed that.
Linda, I'm interested and I'd like to purchase at least 20...
I would like to participate. Would buy at least 5.
Loretta
Thanks Kell, I sent a message there too.
Count me in.....I love the stuff
I want to get in on this coop. I ordered one of the clamshells back when everyone was going on about it. I did see an improvement in my plants, but used the packages quickly. Jenny
Co-op has been approved by DG committee. Opening Monday, Nov 15, details to follow on Co-op thread.
sorry, I live under a rock. what is messenger?
vossner....check out this thread http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/451274/
it also has a link to the messenger product.
As you can see with 260 replies to that thread, its popular. Count me in. I still wonder if this is similar to QVC's Spray and Grow? Sidney
I ordered this before the hurricanes, have used it once since. Some of my plants were leafless if they were left standing at all. I srayed everything two weeks ago and already see a huge difference! I would like to be included in the co-op. Melba
Linda, do you take paypal???? If so, I can send you payment, as well as my addy, all in one post. You are a doll to organize this co-op!!! Thanks!!! Sherry
Linda, did Jeff ever get back to you? I would think we could get a pretty good volume discount.
I have been waiting for another co-op on Messenger,as I missed it before. I'm definately interested!
Bonnie
me too
I would love to try some
I'd take 4 or 5 packs
Wonderful idea!
im in...and i will have to do some checking to see how much i will need...but probably lots...lol
cindy
I sure would be interested also.
Robinz
thanks brinda, and yes, count me in, please
The order will be posted on the Co-op thread on Monday. I've emailed Jeff twice and not gotten an answer. I called Eden and got the answer machine so I emailed them. I hope I have an answer by Monday, but if not, I'll go with the numbers by ordering online. I calculated the difference if you use the larger .25 packet and it's only a few cents less. My logic was that since it only lasts a few hours after it is mixed it would be better to use the smaller packs.
Unless I hear otherwise, each clamshell will be $5.50 plus shipping them/me .30 and shipping me/you .37 first ounce and up with each additional ounce (I'll have to get a chart).
I do have PayPal.
Thanks for your interest
Linda

Sounds like great stuff. I will have to give it a try.
Are you willing to ship to CA, even though it looks like CA is not yet approved?
I ordered some from here, Iowa, and had it sent to California. It went with no trouble.
I may be interested
It is not banned from CA as far as I know - I think only the fertilizer, Mighty Plant, made by the same company is not approved in all states as far as I know, anyway.
