Have you ever

been to the chat room? What was it like. Who did you talk to?

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

I have.....sometimes there is one main theme, other times there can be a lot of conversations going on at once. If you are a very fast typist it helps to keep the flow of the conversations. I don't join in often because it usually is open when I am at work.

I tried it once. Don't think I'll do it again. There were 4 four of us and nobody knew what to talk about, so we made small talk for an uncomfortable 10 minutes and then I left.

Like four strangers sitting at a bus stop. That's funny. I thought there would be so many, you couldn't keep up. I haven't been in a chat room for a few years. Never was very active in them, but DH had a ball.

I try to go to the chat room at ICANGARDEN.COM but they've changed the time so I missed it this week.

Hey Ginny, I'm a member of I Can Garden, too. I was just thinking I have to email and find out why I haven't received a newsletter in a couple of months. I hope it wasn't the result of my telling them in the last questionaire that I thought there was too much emphasis on the World-Wide Garden Touring they go on. But they asked?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Just a glitch I'm sure. They are not like that. You don't get Disneyed there.

OK, what's Disneyed?

Disneyed is why echoes turned into echoes--- at GW. If the admin over there thinks you have said something nice about another Website, especially Dave's, they re-route you to the Disney website when you log in or try to post.

Sounds like the sandbox at primary school LOL

when you get in the chatroom, just set the font to 19, and it moves much slower. Also, pick a conversation you like and ignore the others. Give it a try.

Good tips. Thanks Carol.

The chat room is much like a party, lots of conversations going all at once. If you try to talk to everyone, no one connects with you. If you respond to one subject and keep going, folks tend to join you or talk around you. I don't think chat is everybody's cup of tea, and I think it's hit and miss for everybody.

Thanks Elaine. I found them easily with the links you provided. Excellent articles! You are a very entertaining writer. I especially enjoyed the "Movers & Shakers" article. You had me giggling just picturing you tackling that rambling "house-eater"! You should be writing books, Elaine. I'd certainly buy them. I particularly liked this quote from that article, Growing roses is my way of putting paint to canvass...

Thanks for sharing...
