Need a name

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

See what I got this past week-end in Houston. It was on sale. 70% off of $16.99. Got it for $5.10. On the side it has Alocasia. Can anyone tell me what type it is. I have checked out some past threads and there are different ones.

Actually its a colocasia (taro) not an alocasia.Taros have the stem attached to the leaf about 4 inches from the top of the leaf...alocasias have the stem attached right at the top of the leaf.

Thanks Eclipse: Now I know what to start looking for. I want to study up on it to learn what I can about the plant. Thanks again.

I second 2pugdogs Thanks Eclipse.....

I've wondered what the difference is between the two names...... now I know..... and now you got me really wondering what the other differences are..... Is there a root vs bulb difference ? Are there growing condition differences....... I'm off on an elephant hunt.....
