Hummer feeder cleaning tools

Merced, CA(Zone 9a)

I discovered something that works so well I wanted to share it. My hummer feeder "kit" consists of a wire, green scotch pad, a regular nail or vegetable brush, a small flute brush and pipe cleaners. The wire came in a package sold as clothes hanger wire, described as guy wire on the package, it's vinyl or plastic coated steel, quite stiff. I took about a thirteen inch piece and turned both ends, one one inch long and the other about two inches long. If I put the greenie (cut to 1" x 2") inside the feeder bottle, I can scooch it around and clean the entire inside of the bottle. The wire pulls the greenie back out again. The brushes and the pipe cleaners clean every nook and cranny in the bottom perch portion of the feeder.

Hummer interest has waned somewhat untill spring. Bump your post up then so more folks will see it.

"Bump up"?

Notice that when you wrote "Bump up?" the thread moved to the top of the list again in the Butterflies and Hummers Forum. Just post something again (e. g., bump) next spring and this thread will move to the top again.

Gotcha, I knew that from previous postings but thought you were speaking of something other than that. : )
