CLOSED: [Vigna caracalla] Snail vine for trade.

Crossville, TN(Zone 6b)

I grew this from seed 1 1/2 years ago. I was able to overwinter it. Planted it in the ground this past spring. When I dug it up it today to bring it inside it took me 20 minutes to cut the roots. It had developed a massive roots system. Just the thought of overwintering this monster is too much. Even during the winter months last year I was constantly trimming it back. it just did not want to stop growing.

i would like to trade. It will be heavy. I am interested in daylilies or something on my trading page. http://members.gardenweb.com/members/exch/rdturner

Just wanted to chime in, here...
mine did the same thing! ...Huge! ...
I tried to not over-water them this year, and they really thanked me! lol...

RDT.
Did you get any acceptable day lillies for the vigna yet.. I have a bunch of day lillies I got from a breeder in VT a few years ago.. they are a creamish color quite nice.. any interest in them.. I'd gladly pay the additional postage for the larger plant.. the day lillies I can dig and remove the soil form.. I didn't take any pictures of them this year so a picture is all but unretrieveable... Gordon

Thanks..It was late but I didn't see that it had been traded.. yes.. I give away alot of big things .. yet go a big Bouganvilla I'd had for years last week .. so glad to find a good home for it.. I'd had it run through the house in the winter so many years ..and now there are so many more... Thanks anyway... all the best Gordon
so is there anything else are you looking to relocate in trade for daylillies

Are they named daylilies?

Here is my trading page: http://members.gardenweb.com/members/exch/rdturner

Yes they were named ones .. but I guess it was more like 6-8 years ago I got them.. they as I said came from a daylily specialist grower in VT and were a creammy color.. I'd trade them for some of the Japanesewillow and perhaps gold dust.. cuttings.. or would they be too dormant now.. I do have a picture of them but it's from a distance and all you can tell from it is color.. they are in the photo just to the right of the umbrella.. please lets continue this off the group...please e-mail me at GordonHawk@aol.com
