Just love Dude Ranch and your picture is great. I love the lighting. What time of day did you take this picture? It looks from the photo that you grow rows and rows of Iris. Yes? or is it something else. I'm putting this on my shopping list for next year! Do you know how big the bloom is? And what's "Mid America"?

Yes, I'm really nosy. See what you get when you post such beautiful pictures?

Beautiful bearded! I just wish I could get them to repeat bloom here :-(

Mid-America is the hybridizer- Paul Black's garden. And he does grow rows and rows and rows and acres of gorgeous irises. If you ever get to Salem, OR, be sure to visit. It isn't far from Schreiners.

I think the picture would have had to be taken in the early evening as I went there after 4:00 and stayed almost until dusk. As far as bloom size, I don't have a specific memory, though I would assume it was at least average size bloom. Dude Ranch is a top notch iris, you will love it! As far as getting rebloom in Texas, I'm guessing you may need to water more. Rebloomers love water and extra fertilizer which is why it can be best to plant them in their own section. Maybe try Harvest of Memories or Rosalie Figge. They both rebloom very well for me, and we have a shorter season than you do. You also might check with local club members for their recommendations as what reblooms well in one area may not do as well in others.

It is the length of my season that is the problem. I does not get cold enough or stay cold enough long enough. They bloom fine the first year but produce only folliage subsequent years unless we have a particularly cold winter.

Hugo, OK

Wow! I must have one of these, it will definately be on my want list. I have just make a short cut to the host site, and plan to order this one in the Spring. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos. Shady Grove Gardens, Miss Mollie
