Miner's Claim

Does anyone have a picture of this brug?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I've never heard of it before now. LOL! Any idea what it is supposed to look like?

I found this:

Looks like a patent has been applied for. Would love to see what it looks like :)

LOL Gretchen.....I knew I'd seen it also but just couldn't remember when or where! LOL Your brain works much better than mine ....dang I need more coffee!

The foliage is really pretty on the brug.

And yes Jen, you do have to be a member.

I'm sure some people can't get into the ABADS forums, so I copied this after reading it on the ABADS site. This plant would have to do much better than Snowbank did, for me to buy it.

‘Miner’s Claim’ PPAF -- a wonderful new variegated form of ‘Frosty Pink’ found in our nursery. It has broad creamy yellow to ivory white margins and the same soft, relaxed habit as its parent. Flowers are salmon pink. This is a great foliage plant even if it never blooms. We have had endless comments about this plant from those who have seen it in our nursery. rev 7/2004 *NEW for 2004!* MBN INTRODUCTION-2004 http://www.montereybaynsy.com/B.htm

MMQC tells me that the nurseries around here have it for sale. I may have to buy one! They always come in 5 gallon cans and cost at least $30. Too much $$!

This is the description of it by Monterey bay Nursery.

Re:
Hoax or for Real: Variegated Pink Brug

I remember a discussion elsewhere about the validity of this brug. I looks like a SnowBank and Mary said her leaf edges burned , just like a SB.

The problem some of us had was that none of the photos show the 'pink' blossom actually growing on the plant.
The nursery someone at GW bought it from does not sell on line and monterybay still does not have a photo and describes it as pink & green striped.

I will have one soon from a friend. I will check and see if she has pics or has seen it bloom.

Thank you mmqc! I have been hoping you'd post some pix here like you did at ABADS. Some people thought it was a hoax plant, but I knew you'd posted over there with it in bloom. Very pretty, by the way! Gretchen
